server sets thumbs directory owner to apache an chmod and images 644

hi,
i have just moved servers and when i upload images the the relevant subdirectory in the thumbs directory gets set to owner apache and the images are chmod 644 so i cannot delete the files as i am no longer the owner any help would be appreciated.

it seems that anything created with idut gallery on the server gets changed to owner apache
help

Got in touch with my hosting provider and received the following reply.
"It's all owned by apache because the client is running under mod_php with php4. If they upgrade to php5 it will run as fastcgi as there own user, and then we can just chown the existing files from apache->them.

So basically we will need to convert the domain to PHP5 (takes about an hour). Let me know if you are ok for me to do this and it should hopefully fix up the issue."

It all works now. Just had to rename the thumbnail directories (old) and reindexed existing folders

All folders now belong to my client not apache!!!! Yay
