Index an existing directory not happening
I am a new user, really like the script. using version 2
I can upload images individually. i am having problems doing batch uploading.
Scenario 1 - I uploaded a folder of new pictures under the images folder.
I then selected the option "Index an existing directory".
The folder that I had uploaded via ftp was there, all looks good.
I then selected the folder to index - Choose a folder to make into an album:
Here's the problem:
the album did not show up in the album list.
Any suggestions?
I also tried to upload an image into one of the test albums via ftp, and reindex.
I had no luck, the image did not show up.
Thanks!

Re: Index an existing directory not happening
Do you get any error messages when trying to index the existing folder?
Try CHMOD your folder and photos to 777 to see if that helps.

Test #1 of 2: Uploading an image into an existing folder: CAUSED BY CHMOD 777 NEEDED
=====================================
Upload results:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(./images/ka-pics/IM000699.JPG) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home3/rbrown/rbrown-navalarchitect-www/gallery/admin.php on line 445

IM000699.JPG could not be uploaded to the ka-pics album.
Unknown File Error
Manage Albums
Test #2 of 2: Uploading multiple images via ftp into a new folder:
==========================================
Uploaded files via ftp, then ran "Index an existing directory"
This worked well, except have message: Missing album data file
(Now I can copy another one over manually, but is there a fix for this?)
==>>> hERE'S WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED. On my server, I need to do the chmod many times over, as it keeps losing the settings. Very strange.
I'm going now to test the thinupload now. I'll let you know how that goes.
I'm having fun with this! ![]()
